Women's Pan American Cup begins in León, Mexico

The 23rd edition of the Women's Pan American Cup begins on September 11 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Held at the Domo de la Feria, the tournament runs through September 18 and serves as a critical pathway for teams seeking qualification for the 2027 Pan American Games in Lima and the 2027 World Championship.

Participating teams will compete for FIVB world ranking points. The Mexican national team, led by Italian coach Nicola Negro and captain Jocelyn Urías, aims to secure a championship on home soil. The Venezuelan delegation, captained by Ana López and coached by Yani Capuzzi, competes in Group A against Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Canada.

The event reinforces León's status as an international volleyball venue, having previously hosted the Women's U-21 World Championship.
