Women's participation and technical training in Brazilian agribusiness
In Brazil, women manage 19% of rural establishments, according to a study by the IDH Foundation. Efforts to increase female participation in agricultural decision-making and management are being highlighted through technical training and specialized events.
In Goiás, the ‘Rainhas do Agro no Brasil’ event is scheduled for October 17 at Fazenda Lumiar in Bela Vista de Goiás. Organized by Gláucia Parronchi, the gathering aims to connect rural producers, entrepreneurs, and professionals to foster networking, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities between rural and urban sectors.
Additionally, technical training initiatives like the ‘Força Feminina em Campo’ program are working to strengthen the autonomy of female producers. In southern Brazil, specifically in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná, such training helps women manage family properties more effectively, contributing to the sustainability of family farming.
