Women's political participation initiatives advance in Colombia and Argentina

In Colombia, the Department of Nariño has formally installed its Departmental Advisory Council for Women. Comprising 32 representatives from various municipalities and sectors, the council aims to strengthen female representation in public policy, decision-making, and gender equity programs. The group will focus on implementing the Departmental Public Policy for Women and Gender Equity and ensuring institutional actions address local territorial needs.

In Argentina, the Provincial Parliament for Women's Political Rights was held at the Córdoba Legislature. The event brought together mayors, community leaders, and legislators to discuss political leadership, gender-based political violence, and the care economy. A document was approved outlining priorities such as equal political participation, economic autonomy, and the creation of political spaces free from violence.
