Women’s Rights Events in Argentina and Spain Spotlight Gender Violence

In Argentina, the environmental group Isla Verde organized the "Sembrando Conciencia" festival on Sunday, 28 June, at Plaza de la Naturaleza in El Palomar. The open‑air event, part of the Ni Una Menos campaign, featured live music, artisan stalls, mural‑painting, workshops and talks—including a session by the feminist bird‑watching collective COAF—aimed at raising awareness of machista violence and promoting urban nature conservation.

In Spain, the association Mujeres Siemprevivas held a public forum on Saturday, 27 June, in Guadalajara to examine the history of the Francoist Patronato de Protección a la Mujer. The program included a historical overview of the institution, which operated until 1985, and a dialogue with survivors Consuelo García del Cid and Loli Benito to recover memory and call for recognition and reparations for the women it repressed.
