Women’s skill‑training programs completed in Chihuahua (Mexico) and Osorno (Chile)

A group of participants at the Nombre de Dios community centre in Chihuahua, Mexico, finished a Corte y Confección (cutting and sewing) course organized by the Secretaría de Desarrollo Humano y Bien Común. The program taught theoretical and practical garment‑making skills intended to support personal projects and household income.

In Osorno, Chile, women heads of household completed a construction, drywall and finishing workshop run by the municipality in partnership with INACAP. The four‑session course covered basic home‑improvement techniques and tool use (electric saw, drill, galletera). INACAP vice‑rector Fernando Monrás highlighted the program’s role in fostering autonomy and entrepreneurship, while participants reported immediate practical benefits for their families.
