Women's tennis teams compete in Milwaukee Tennis Classic

The Milwaukee Tennis Classic saw competitive performances from the Kansas State and South Florida women's tennis teams during their opening fall weekend.

Kansas State players Diana Smolinska and Sabrina Balderrama secured notable wins in Milwaukee. The duo won consecutive doubles matches against Wisconsin-Madison and Illinois before falling to Lipscomb. In singles, Balderrama defeated Colorado in a three-set match, and Smolinska won in straight sets against Marquette. Meanwhile, in Chapel Hill, Lena Beuing and Marta Leon competed in singles matches against Elon, with Leon securing a straight-set victory over Alexis Nyborg.

South Florida's Josefine Falster and Sienna Leeson finished the tournament with seven combined victories. Leeson earned a 3-2 singles record, including a win over Lipscomb and Illinois. Falster finished with a 2-2 singles record, highlighted by victories over Colorado and Kansas State. The pair also secured two doubles victories, including a win in the South Final against a Milwaukee pairing.
