Women's welfare schemes provide financial support in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh

In Jharkhand, approximately 5.1 million women eligible for the Maiya Samman Yojana may receive their October installment of 2,500 rupees before Diwali. The funds are distributed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to beneficiaries' bank accounts. While the September installment was released before Durga Puja, the government has not yet officially announced the specific date for the upcoming October disbursement.

In Chhattisgarh, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana continues to provide monthly financial assistance of 1,000 rupees to eligible women, including married women, widows, and divorcees. Beneficiaries are reportedly using a portion of these funds to contribute to Sukanya Samriddhi accounts to secure their daughters' educational and future needs. The scheme, launched in March 2024, aims to enhance women's economic independence and nutritional levels.
