Wonder Woman celebrates 85 years of publication
DC Comics' iconic superheroine Wonder Woman marks 85 years since her debut. Created by psychologist William Moulton Marston with contributions from artists Harry G. Peter and collaborators Elizabeth Marston and Olive Byrne, the character first appeared in All-Star Comics #8. Historians identify October 21, 1941, as her official debut date.
To celebrate this legacy, DC has announced the ‘Year of Wonder Woman’ for 2027. This editorial initiative will introduce significant creative shifts, beginning January 20, 2027, with writer Louise Simonson and artist Cian Tormey. Their story arc will involve Princess Diana attempting to repeal the Amazon Security Law and her interactions with Lois Lane.
Following the initial arc, writer Stephanie Williams and artist Elena Casagrande are scheduled to take over the series, continuing the narrative through October 2027.
