Wong Cho-lam reveals marriage challenges and three-year pact

Hong Kong entertainer Wong Cho-lam has revealed the challenges he faced regarding his marriage to Leanne Li. During an appearance on the TVB program ‘Blue Friend · Travel Friend’, Wong recounted how his relationship with Li was once jeopardized by his professional image.

At the time, Wong was gaining significant popularity for cross-dressing roles in the show ‘Fook Luk Sau’. This persona caused concern for Li’s father, who struggled to accept Wong’s public image. To resolve the tension, Li’s father established a ‘three-year agreement’. Under these terms, Wong was required to avoid negative news, refrain from any misconduct, and delay marriage for three years to prove his character.

Wong successfully fulfilled the conditions, eventually marrying Li in 2015. The couple, who have two daughters, has since maintained a stable family life. Wong also discussed his recent efforts to return to his roots in children's programming with his new project, ‘Hi Ya Er Loves the World’ much like his earlier career as ‘Brother Cho-lam’ much like his earlier career as ‘Brother Cho-lam’.
