Wontech receives PMDA approval for Pastelle Pro in Japan
Wontech, a medical solution company specializing in laser and energy-based devices, has received approval from Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) for its pigment treatment laser device, ‘Pastelle Pro’. The device is classified as a laser surgical instrument intended for the incision, destruction, and removal of tissue.
Following the previous approval of ‘Velastar’, this new authorization allows Wontech to expand its product lineup in the Japanese aesthetic market. The company plans to target dermatology clinics and hospitals, focusing on high-demand procedures such as pigment treatment, toning, and tattoo removal. The Pastelle Pro features dual wavelengths (1064nm and 532nm) and four emission modes, utilizing multi-pulse technology to minimize skin irritation.
Wontech intends to leverage its experience from securing regulatory approvals in six other markets—including the US, Brazil, Australia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Taiwan—to establish a strong presence in Japan. The company will combine the marketing of Pastelle Pro with Velastar, which is used for vascular, hair removal, and regeneration procedures, to build a comprehensive sales network through academic activities and medical briefings.
