New Patriotic Party sets ballot positions for national elections
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finalized ballot positions for its national executive elections ahead of the National Delegates Conference scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Kumasi. The balloting, held at the party headquarters in Accra, covers nine key positions, including National Chairmanship, General Secretary, National Treasurer, and National Organizer.
In the race for National Chairman, four candidates have been assigned ballot numbers: John Boadu (1), Sammy Crabbe (2), Paul Afoko (3), and Boakye Agyarko (4). The National Vice Chairmanship contest is the most competitive, featuring 13 aspirants. Other races include General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Youth Organizer, and National Women Organizer.
In a significant political development, the campaign team of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has officially endorsed John Boadu for the National Chairmanship. The Wontumi campaign stated that the decision follows consultations with party stakeholders and a visit to Boasiako at Nsawam. The endorsement aims to consolidate grassroots strength and institutional experience to help the NPP return to power in the 2028 general elections.
