Woodbine GO Station begins major construction in Toronto

Major construction has commenced on the new Woodbine GO Station in Toronto, marking a significant step in the expansion of GO Transit services. The project aims to address capacity issues at the nearby Etobicoke North Station, which officials state is unable to accommodate future growth along the line.

Located on the Kitchener Line, the new station is designed to serve several key local destinations, including Woodbine Racetrack, Woodbine Mall, Etobicoke General Hospital, and Humber Polytechnic North Campus. The facility will feature island platforms for GO Transit and UP Express trains, a bus loop connecting to various regional transit services including the TTC, MiWay, York Region Transit, and Brampton Transit, as well as dedicated parking and pedestrian bridges.
