Woodhall Sports Hub opens in Leeds with £9.6m investment

The Woodhall Sports Hub, a £9.6 million community facility in West Leeds, has officially opened its pitches to players. Developed by Leeds City Council in partnership with the Premier League, the FA, and the Football Foundation, the complex is designed to support both football and rugby.

The 8.3-hectare site features three full-sized, floodlit 3G pitches and two grass pitches. Additional amenities include a new pavilion with a café and meeting spaces, changing rooms, outdoor play areas, and improved walking and running routes. The project was supported by a £5.4 million grant from the Football Foundation.

Managed by the National Football Trust and operated by the Leisure United charity, the hub aims to increase sports participation and reduce health inequalities. The facility will place a particular emphasis on attracting junior and women’s clubs, with surplus income being reinvested into outdoor sports provision across the city.
