Woodside Bridge in Montana to close for soil investigations
The Woodside Bridge on Secondary Highway 373 in the Bitterroot Valley will undergo periodic closures to facilitate drilling and soil and groundwater investigations. These activities are part of the design process for a planned bridge replacement, which is currently anticipated to begin in 2029.
The first closure is scheduled from 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, through 7 p.m. Friday, September 25. A second closure will occur from 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, through 7 p.m. Thursday, October 1.
During these periods, vehicle access to the Woodside Bridge Fishing Access Site will be prohibited. While pedestrians may still reach the site via walking paths, no vehicle parking will be available. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, such as Victor Crossing to the north or Hamilton to the south, as no official detour will be posted.
