Woodstock house fire kills four-year-old child

A four-year-old child has died following a devastating house fire in Woodstock, located approximately 22 kilometres north-east of Cowra. The blaze fully engulfed a home on Waugoola Road on a Saturday afternoon.

Officers from the Chifley Police District arrived to find the property well alight. While a woman and two children managed to escape the building, the four-year-old remained unaccounted for. The woman was treated at Cowra Hospital for smoke inhalation and is reported to be in stable condition.

A crime scene has been established, and authorities are conducting inquiries into the circumstances of the fire. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
