Woody Allen begins filming new comedy in Madrid

Woody Allen has commenced filming his 51st feature film in Madrid, Spain. The production began on October 5 at the Plaza de Oriente and is expected to continue for six weeks, with filming locations spanning approximately 30 sites across Madrid and the town of Aranjuez.

The film is described as a contemporary comedy centered on romance, intrigue, and infidelity within diplomatic environments. Allen noted that Madrid's elegant atmosphere provided the ideal setting for the story's diplomatic themes.

The project has a total budget of twelve million euros. This includes three million euros in public funding, provided equally by the Community of Madrid and the Madrid City Council, on the condition that the capital is featured in the film. The production is a collaboration between Spanish company Wanda Vision, Allen's Gravier Productions, and Puerto Rico-based 3SIX9 Studios.

The international cast features Alexi Wasser, Jemima Kirke, Peter Vives, Marton Csokas, and Jakob Oftebro. The production also employs over 370 Spanish technical professionals and more than 700 extras.
