Woody Allen to begin filming new project in Spain this October

Woody Allen is set to begin production on his next feature film in Spain this October. The project, which is expected to be primarily in English, has an estimated budget of approximately $14 million.

The production is being handled by Madrid-based Wanda Vision, Gravier Production, and 3SIX9. While specific details regarding the plot and the cast remain undisclosed, reports indicate the film will feature high-profile actors.

This marks Allen’s third production filmed in Spain, following ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ (2008) and ‘Rifkin’s Festival’ (2020). The project has previously secured €1.5 million in staggered funding from the regional government of Madrid, contingent upon specific milestones such as the official announcement of filming in the city and the inclusion of Madrid in the film’s title.
