Actors Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey have revealed a potential familial connection following a revelation from McConaughey’s mother, Mary Kathlene McConaughey. Harrelson noted that during a conversation, Mary Kathlene stated, “I knew your father,” implying a relationship between Harrelson’s father and her that went beyond friendship.

McConaughey previously mentioned a “murky line” in their relationship during a 2023 podcast appearance. The actors have attempted to investigate the possibility through timing and locations in West Texas, noting that Harrelson’s father was on furlough during a period when McConaughey’s parents were undergoing a second divorce. The two actors, who met while filming ‘EDtv’ in the 1990s, are set to portray fictionalized versions of themselves in an upcoming television series titled ‘Brothers’.
