Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize announces 25th anniversary finalists

The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize has announced its 49 finalists for its 25th anniversary year. Presented by the Woollahra Council and hosted at the Woollahra Art Gallery, the competition received 724 entries from both national and international artists.

To qualify, sculptures must not exceed 80cm in any dimension. The judging panel includes philanthropist Beau Neilson, artist and former winner Tim Silver, and Emily Sullivan, curator of contemporary international art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. The winner will receive $25,000, and their work will be added to the Woollahra Council’s permanent collection.

Notable finalists include BJ Kim, Lynda Draper, Melanie Cobham, Tricia Singer, Wanita Lowe, and Christopher Jewitt. To celebrate the milestone anniversary, the gallery is also launching the inaugural Super Small Sculpture Prize, a new category specifically for primary-school-aged artists.
