Woori Financial Group opens new Goodwill Store in Cheongju

Woori Financial Group has opened the Milal Cheongju Heungdeok Goodwill Store in Cheongju, South Korea, to support the independence of individuals with developmental disabilities. This marks the second Goodwill Store in the Cheongju area and the 18th location supported by Woori Financial Group nationwide.

Goodwill Stores operate as workplaces for people with disabilities by selling donated goods from corporations and individuals, using the proceeds to fund employment. The new Heungdeok branch spans approximately 150 pyeong (roughly 5,300 square feet).

Woori Financial Group is expanding its support for these stores beyond the Seoul metropolitan area to provide employment opportunities in regional provinces. Following previous openings in Ulsan, Daegu, Ansan, Hanam, and Jeonju, a new store is scheduled to open in Cheonan this November. To support the initiative, Woori Bank has installed donation boxes at branches, and the group is running a donation campaign through its Woori WON Banking app.
