Worcester police hunt suspect after off-duty veteran officer found dead

Authorities in Worcester, Massachusetts, have launched an urgent manhunt for 58-year-old Karen Solomon after an off-duty police officer was found dead at her residence on Wildwood Avenue.

Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier reported that officers responded to a medical emergency call and discovered the body of a patrol officer who had served with the department for 30 years. While the officer's identity has not been released, Solomon is considered a suspect in the death investigation. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early warned that Solomon is presumed to be armed and dangerous.

Solomon, a co-founder of the law enforcement mental health organization Blue H. E. L. P., was last seen walking toward Westcott Street wearing a tank top and pajama shorts. The search involves multiple agencies, including the Massachusetts State Police, the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and Homeland Security Investigations. Law enforcement has issued a reverse 911 alert for the surrounding 2.5-mile area, advising the public not to approach her.
