Word Vancouver returns this Fall

Word Vancouver, Western Canada’s largest free literary festival, is scheduled to return from September 10 to 26, 2026. The event will conclude with a flagship outdoor festival day on September 19 at UBC Robson Square in downtown Vancouver.

Centred on the theme “Finding Joy in Darkness,” the 2026 festival features a diverse lineup of creators spanning poetry, memoir, speculative fiction, and sports activism. Featured participants include author and child welfare advocate Awinder Kaur, writer Kristi Wong, Olympic volleyball captain and activist Betty Baxter, and professor Christopher Kawika Guillermo.
