WordPress launches official browser extension

WordPress has released an official browser extension designed to improve the user experience for site administrators. The extension allows users to hide the top Admin Bar to achieve a cleaner front-end viewing experience while maintaining quick access to essential management tools via the browser toolbar.

Key features include the ability to automatically identify if a visited website is running WordPress and whether the user is logged in. It also facilitates rapid navigation to content editing pages, such as post editors, category editors, and site editors for block themes.

The extension is available for Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers, as well as macOS Safari. The project is fully open-source, with its source code hosted on GitHub. WordPress has stated that the extension prioritizes privacy, as all operations are performed locally on the user's device and no data is uploaded or tracked.
