Workday launches Work Intelligence to manage AI's impact on job tasks

Workday has introduced Work Intelligence, a new tool designed to help organizations navigate the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market. Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for entire roles, the technology focuses on how AI alters specific tasks within a job, which in turn shifts the required skill sets.

According to the 2026 Workday Global Workforce Report, 76% of heavy AI users anticipate that the technology will create new career opportunities. Work Intelligence utilizes the Workday Skills Cloud, which serves over 3,450 customers, to break down jobs into individual tasks. This allows leaders to identify which functions can be augmented by AI, which should remain human-led, and where employees require additional training to meet evolving professional demands.
