Robecco sul Naviglio worker dies in eight-meter fall

A 48-year-old worker, identified as Antonio Sperandio, died on Wednesday morning in the Casterno district of Robecco sul Naviglio after falling approximately eight meters from the attic of a rural building. The man was engaged in clearing out the loft of an agricultural property when the accident occurred. While a colleague working alongside him remained uninjured, emergency services, including an air ambulance, were unable to revive the victim at the scene.

In response to the fatality, major labor unions, including Cgil, Cisl, and Uil, have expressed deep anger and grief. The unions issued a joint statement condemning the preventable nature of such accidents and calling for stricter safety training, more rigorous inspections, and the establishment of a special prosecutor for workplace accidents. Authorities, including the Carabinieri and local police, are currently investigating the exact dynamics of the fall to determine if safety protocols were followed.
