Worker dies after falling from construction site in Juazeiro do Norte

A 36-year-old construction worker, identified as Fernando Cardoso de Oliveira, died on Friday after falling from a building under construction in central Juazeiro do Norte.

According to witnesses, the accident occurred at a hotel construction site when Oliveira stepped on a roof tile that could not support his weight. He fell from approximately the fifth floor to the second floor, a height estimated at 15 meters. Emergency medical services (Samu) arrived at the scene but confirmed he was already deceased.

WR Engenharia, the company responsible for the construction, issued a statement expressing regret over the death and stated they are providing assistance to the victim's family. The company noted it is cooperating with authorities and taking necessary measures. The Civil Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
