Worker dies after falling from scaffolding in Italy

Tomassino Calvaresi, a 70-year-old worker, has died following a construction site accident in the Acquaviva Picena area of Italy. The incident occurred on October 29 in Contrada San Vincenzo while Calvaresi was working on a floor slab for a residential building.

Calvaresi reportedly fell approximately three and a half meters from a scaffold. Emergency services, including medical crews and firefighters from San Benedetto del Tronto, responded to the scene. After being stabilized, he was airlifted to the Torrette regional hospital in Ancona in critical condition. Despite medical efforts in the traumatology department, he passed away five days later.

Labor unions, including FENEAL UIL, FILCA CISL, and FILLEA CGIL, issued a statement following the death, calling for improved safety inspections and continuous training to prevent such tragedies. Local authorities, including the Carabinieri and Spsal technicians, are investigating the circumstances of the fall.
