Worker dies during tanker truck cleaning in La Plata

A 36-year-old worker, identified as Fernando Ezequiel Nociti, died while cleaning a tanker truck at a quarry in La Plata, Buenos Aires province. The incident occurred after Nociti entered the vehicle's tank following a discharge.

During the event, a second employee also collapsed. Investigators are exploring the hypothesis that the worker may have inhaled accumulated gases inside the cistern. Authorities are currently examining whether the tank had adequate ventilation and the specific conditions present during the cleaning process.

Police have seized the truck and its tanker trailer for forensic examination. The case has been classified as an investigation into the causes of death and is being handled by Prosecutor Fernando Padovan of the La Plata Functional Instruction Unit No. 12. Scientific Police and the Police Morgue are working to determine the exact medical cause of death and the substances involved.
