A construction worker died on Saturday morning after falling from an unfinished bridge at the D11 highway construction site in Bernartice, located in the Trutnov district of the Czech Republic. The deceased has been identified as a foreign national, reported to be a Slovak citizen and a father of two.

A second worker, who was on the ground at the time of the fall, sustained a head injury and was transported by land to a hospital in Trutnov for further examination. Emergency services, including an air rescue helicopter, responded to the scene.

The D11 highway project, which connects Trutnov to the Polish border, is a significant infrastructure undertaking.
