Worker dies of electrocution at Almirante Tamandaré mining company
Ronaldo Milinofre, a 43-year-old driver, died from electrocution at a mining company in Almirante Tamandaré, located in the Curitiba metropolitan region, on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Fire Department, the accident occurred while Milinofre was cleaning a truck. The raised trailer body made contact with a high-voltage power line. Although the driver exited the cabin upon realizing the contact, he suffered a fatal electric shock when he touched the metal parts of the vehicle, which completed the electrical circuit.
Emergency responders, including ground teams and aeromedical support, attempted to resuscitate the worker, but he did not survive. The incident also caused damage to the truck, including its tires. Milinofre's family has shared tributes on social media, and his burial is scheduled for Saturday at the Tranqueira Municipal Cemetery.
