Worker found dead near burning car in Lucoli, Italy

A 29-year-old Tunisian worker, Wissem Hmida, was found dead near his burning Chevrolet Aveo in the Prato Lonaro area of Lucoli, Italy. A passerby discovered the body in a roadside embankment near the vehicle, which had been completely destroyed by fire.

Authorities are investigating several hypotheses to determine the cause of death. Investigators are examining whether a malfunction in the vehicle’s LPG system caused an explosion that ejected the driver from the cabin, or if a flammable liquid leak caused the fire to spread rapidly to the man's clothing. Initial medical examinations found no immediate signs of physical struggle or blunt force trauma.

The vehicle has been seized for technical analysis, and the Prosecutor's Office of L'Aquila has opened an investigation. An autopsy is expected to provide definitive evidence regarding the cause of death.
