Worker injured in accident at Porto do Itaqui, São Luís

A worker employed by COPI Operações Integradas was injured during a port operation on Sunday, 26, at berth 102 of Porto do Itaqui in São Luís, Brazil. Emergency teams from the Empresa Maranhense de Administração Portuária (EMAP), including its Health and Safety, Emergency Response, and Port Security divisions, provided immediate first aid and arranged an ambulance.

The injured employee was stabilized on site and transported to a private hospital in São Luís, where he remains conscious under medical observation. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed. EMAP has opened an internal investigation to determine the cause of the incident, following established protocols, and will continue to monitor his health and provide assistance during recovery.
