Worker injured in fall at Enimed site in Gela

A worker employed by an external company was injured after falling from the roof of a warehouse at the Enimed site in Gela, an Eni group facility. The worker was rescued and transported via helicopter to the Sant'Elia hospital in Caltanissetta, where he was stabilized before being transferred to another medical facility.

Eni has issued an official statement expressing closeness to the worker and confirming that investigations into the incident have been launched. The Fillea Cgil union has called for increased safety inspections and stricter enforcement of prevention measures, particularly for high-altitude work. Union secretary Francesco Cosca emphasized the need to clarify the dynamics of the accident and verify compliance with anti-fall systems and safety procedures to ensure workplace safety is treated as a priority rather than a bureaucratic formality.
