Worker killed in Prados construction accident

A construction accident in the center of Prados, Minas Gerais, resulted in the death of a 43-year-old worker on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. during a renovation project on Rua Djalma Pinheiro Chagas.

A masonry structure suddenly collapsed, burying two workers under the debris. Emergency responders from the Military Firefighters Corps and SAMU arrived at the scene. While a 48-year-old worker was rescued with minor injuries, the 43-year-old man, identified as Rodrigo Junior de Matos, died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

The Civil Police and Municipal Civil Defense have been called to the site. Authorities have isolated the area to conduct technical forensics and evaluate structural risks to determine the cause of the collapse and establish responsibility.
