Worker recovers after falling into construction pit in Santa Fe
A worker involved in a sewage construction project in Santa Fe, Argentina, is recovering after falling into an excavation pit. The accident occurred at the intersection of Bulevar Pellegrini and 9 de Julio during works conducted by Aguas Santafesinas.
Reports indicate the worker fell from a height of approximately 6 to 8 meters. One account suggests an issue with a harness, while another indicates the worker lost balance from a ladder when a structure shifted. Emergency responders, including firefighters, used a tripod and pulley system to extract the worker, who remained conscious during the rescue.
The victim, described in reports as being between 30 and 41 years old, was transported to Hospital José María Cullen. He suffered multiple traumas, including a fractured humerus and chest trauma. Following a successful surgical procedure to repair the fracture, the patient has been moved to a common ward and remains in stable condition under medical observation. An investigation is expected to determine the exact circumstances of the fall and the safety conditions present at the time of the accident.
