Worker uses soda bottles to extinguish transformer fire in Venezuela

In Valle de la Pascua, Guárico state, a worker reportedly used soda bottles to extinguish a fire on an electrical transformer. The individual, identified as an employee of the Corporación Eléctrica Nacional (Corpoelec), was positioned in the elevated basket of a maintenance truck during the incident.

Video footage shows the worker throwing three two-liter bottles of soda directly at the flames. After each throw, the worker ducked into the platform to protect themselves from potential reactions. While the maneuver appeared to control the fire, experts note that such actions are highly dangerous due to the extreme risk of electrocution or explosion when approaching energized electrical equipment.

The incident has raised questions regarding the working conditions and emergency protocols for electrical maintenance crews in Venezuela.
