Workers in Da Nang protest 32-month social insurance debt

Hundreds of workers at Minh Hoang 2 Garment Co., Ltd., located in the Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc Industrial Park in Da Nang, are protesting after the company failed to pay social insurance for 32 months. Despite deducting insurance contributions from employees' wages, the company has not remitted the funds for nearly three years.

Workers reported that the lack of insurance coverage has hindered their ability to transition to new jobs and access benefits. In addition to the insurance debt, employees have expressed grievances regarding unpaid Tet bonuses and maternity benefits.

A representative from Minh Hoang 2 stated that the company is currently facing a lawsuit from the workers. The company is reportedly working with social insurance authorities to seek interest reductions to facilitate the settlement of outstanding payments.
