Workman House expands in Tomakomai with two new locations

Red Horse Trust is expanding its Workman House hotel chain in Hokkaido with the simultaneous opening of two new locations in Tomakomai at the end of September. The new facilities, Workman House Tomakomai Funami and Workman House Premium Tomakomai Hokuei, will provide 114 total rooms designed for long-term business travelers and workers.

The expansion comes in response to surging accommodation demand in the Tomakomai area, driven by large-scale industrial projects including green hydrogen initiatives, carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects, next-generation semiconductor plant construction, and data center developments. These projects are expected to create a peak demand for over 5,000 overnight stays in the region.

With these additions, the Workman House series has surpassed 1,000 total rooms and 30 locations across Hokkaido. The company plans to continue its expansion, aiming to provide 1,500 rooms within Hokkaido by the end of 2027 to support regional infrastructure and industrial development.
