Workplace accidents reported in Brazil
Two separate accidents involving falls and electrical hazards have been reported in Brazil.
In Braço do Norte, Santa Catarina, a 39-year-old man died after a ladder he was using for painting work came into contact with electrical wiring. The man suffered an electric shock and fell approximately two meters. Emergency responders found him unconscious and without vital signs, noting burns and suspected fractures. Local police and the energy cooperative, Cerbranorte, were notified to handle the scene.
In Apucarana, Paraná, a 65-year-old man was injured after falling roughly two meters from a garage roof during repairs. The Fire Department reported that the man was conscious but sustained abrasions and a head wound. He declined hospital transport. Authorities noted that the man was not using personal protective equipment (PPE) and warned that recent storms have left structures fragile, increasing the risk of similar accidents.
