Workplace ergonomics and physical treatments address rising neck and muscle pain
Workplace ergonomics and physical treatments for muscle tension are key areas of focus for managing neck and limb discomfort. A Logitech survey across 11 countries found that 58% of participants experience pain or discomfort by the end of a workday, a figure that increases to 65% among those aged 18 to 34. Common areas of discomfort include the back, neck, forearms, and wrists.
To mitigate these issues, experts suggest small adjustments to workspace setups. For laptop users, raising the screen to eye level and using external keyboards and mice can help prevent strain on the neck, shoulders, and wrists.
Regarding physical relief for mechanical neck pain, clinical dry needling is highlighted as a method to target myofascial trigger points. Unlike traditional acupuncture, which focuses on balancing energy flow, dry needling aims to trigger a local twitch response to force tight muscle knots to relax.
