Workplace health: Strategies to prevent physical and mental illness

Workplace environments significantly influence physical and mental health. Factors such as improper posture, repetitive movements, excessive demands, and interpersonal conflicts contribute to worker exhaustion. To mitigate these risks, experts recommend implementing active breaks, such as occupational gymnastics, which include stretching, breathing, and mobility exercises to relieve tension and correct posture.

Psychological support and psychosocial risk management are also vital. According to data from the Ministry of Social Security and the INSS, anxiety and depression are the second leading causes of worker leave in Brazil. To manage emotional balance, specialists suggest strategies such as mindful breathing, creating short breaks between tasks, practicing mindfulness, organizing task priorities, and managing negative thought patterns to prevent stress accumulation.
