Workplace safety initiatives highlighted in Italy

In Italy, initiatives regarding workplace safety and training are being highlighted through both educational outreach and professional certification programs.

In Pesaro, Uil Marche General Secretary Claudia Mazzucchelli addressed approximately 250 high school students during the ‘185’ event. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Regional School Office, aims to foster a culture of safety. Emma Marrazzo, mother of Luana D’Orazio—who died in a 2021 workplace accident—joined the event to urge students to demand their right to safety and to refuse work environments that disregard human life.

Additionally, SAGE, an accredited training body in the Piedmont region, has announced an updated first aid course for corporate employees. Scheduled for September 30, 2026, in Rivoli, the four-hour session is designed for workers who have completed basic training and need to renew their certifications. The curriculum covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation, emergency communication, and managing respiratory, cerebral, or chemical exposures.
