Workshop in Windsor explores the role of engaged fatherhood

The Réseau-femmes du sud-ouest de l’Ontario (RFSOO) organized a workshop in Windsor titled ‘La paternité engagée : être un modèle positif’ to discuss the impact of paternal involvement on child development. Led by family psychotherapist Kerry Menelas, the session encouraged parents to reflect on emotional availability and the family habits passed down through generations.

Discussions highlighted the importance of the father's presence in a child's psychological construction and their path toward autonomy. Participants, including women, shared experiences and discussed methods to strengthen family relationships in environments where cultural shifts may be significant.
