World Archery lifts restrictions on Russian athletes

The World Archery Federation has lifted restrictions on Russian athletes, teams, and officials, allowing them to compete under their national flag and anthem. This decision follows a July 2026 review of an International Olympic Committee (IOC) ruling that ended previous recommendations regarding restrictions on Russian participation.

The new rules apply to competitions organized directly by the federation, such as the Archery World Cup and World Championships. However, the decision does not extend to events organized by World Archery Europe, which remains under its own jurisdiction.

Russian participation remains subject to standard eligibility, anti-doping requirements, host country regulations, and visa restrictions. The federation noted its continued support for the Ukrainian archery community.
