World Athletics expands grassroots and parental support initiatives

World Athletics is enhancing its global and regional efforts to support youth development through sport. As part of the Global Sport for Good Initiative—a collaboration with the International Olympic Committee, World Rugby, FIBA, and the Badminton World Federation—the organization is strengthening its Kids’ Athletics programme. This initiative aims to improve children's wellbeing, promote inclusion, and support community development for participants aged four to 14.

On a regional level, Working With Parents in Sport (WWPIS) has launched a partnership with England Athletics. This collaboration provides performance parenting education to families involved in the 2026–28 Youth Talent Programme. The partnership includes live sessions at venues such as Loughborough University and Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, alongside upcoming webinars designed to help parents support young athletes through various stages of their sporting journeys.
