World Bank and IMF engage in economic discussions with Equatorial Guinea and Bolivia
In Equatorial Guinea, the Ministry of Finance, Budgets, and National Planning met with a World Bank delegation led by Harold Tavares, Administrator for Africa Group II. The meeting aimed to establish institutional contact and review national development projects and cooperation priorities. The delegation plans to visit several strategic sites, including the National University of Equatorial Guinea in Malabo, the Sendje Hydroelectric Plant in Bata, and the Afro-American University and City of Peace in Oyala.
In Bolivia, Economy Minister Christian Morales presented a bill to the Chamber of Deputies regarding a $1.9 billion financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The funds are intended for economic stabilization rather than specific projects, with the goal of strengthening Net International Reserves (NIR), stabilizing the balance of payments, and supporting the national currency against economic shocks.
