World Bank to partner with Peru’s Ministry of Environment

The World Bank will serve as a strategic partner for Peru’s Ministry of Environment (Minam) to support its institutional modernization process. The partnership will provide specialized technical assistance to improve citizen services and foster more efficient, results-oriented environmental management.

Key areas of cooperation include environmental governance, regulatory framework reviews, decentralization, and the simplification of administrative processes. The initiative also aims to address digital transformation, environmental certification, and improvements in budgetary and financial management. This support complements existing technical assistance provided to the ministry by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
