World Central Kitchen teams with Spanish chefs to feed wildfire evacuees in Zamora and Ávila

The humanitarian group World Central Kitchen, founded by chef José Andrés, joined local food providers to supply meals during the forest‑fire emergency that struck the Sayago comarca of Zamora and the Burgohondo area of Ávila, Spain. In Fermoselle, the organization worked with Restaurante España, where chef Mar Marcos and his team prepared and packaged trays of pasta, meat and vegetables for distribution to displaced residents, firefighters and volunteers. Meanwhile, Michelin‑starred chef Carlos Casillas converted his Barro restaurant into a large‑scale kitchen, producing thousands of rations for emergency crews and evacuees across the affected municipalities. The combined effort helped sustain hundreds of volunteers and professionals on the ground while the fires were brought under control and residents returned to their homes.
