World Champion Squirrel Cook Off to be held in Springdale, Arkansas
The fourth annual World Champion Squirrel Cook Off will take place on September 12 at the J. B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center in Springdale, Arkansas. The event, which is free to the public, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Approximately 30 three-person cooking teams are expected to participate, using various methods such as grills and smokers to prepare dishes for a panel of judges starting at noon. Founder Joe Wilson noted that the competition has attracted teams from across the United States and internationally, including participants from Australia, Mexico, Germany, and the Netherlands.
The event is a partnership between the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (AGFC) and the nature center, aimed at promoting outdoor activities and conservation within the community.
