World Circular Economy Forum 2026 opens in Gandhinagar

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has inaugurated the 10th edition of the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 in Gandhinagar. This marks the first time the prestigious global event is being held in South Asia.

The four-day forum, running until September 18, 2026, aims to reduce global emissions, promote circular business models, and accelerate sustainable economic growth. It also seeks to facilitate the exchange of environment-friendly policies and technologies among South Asian nations.

More than 2,000 stakeholders, including scientists and entrepreneurs from 66 countries, are participating in the event. The forum features a ‘Circularity Expo’ with over 125 stalls showcasing recycling technologies, waste-to-wealth models, and various green innovations. Union Minister for Environment Bhupender Yadav was also in attendance for the inauguration.
